What is a Fire Extinguishing Ball? The Fire Extinguishing Ball is an innovative, self-activating fire suppression device designed for automatic and manual use. It is engineered to Australian Standards (AS/NZS 1841) to ensure reliability and safety. The ball can be thrown into a fire, where it quickly activates and disperses a specialised fire-suppressing chemical. Alternatively, it can be mounted in high-risk areas, such as kitchens or near electrical panels, where it will automatically activate when flames are detected. Upon activation, the Fire Extinguishing Ball extinguishes fires by dispersing its chemical agents across a wide area, typically within 3-5 seconds, covering a radius of 3 to 4 square meters. The Fire Extinguishing Ball is available in three sizes: 0.5 kg, 1.3 kg, and 4 kg, allowing you to select the most suitable option based on your fire protection needs. With its simple design and ease of use, it provides a faster, safer, and more efficient solution for fire suppression than traditional fire extinguishers.

How does it work?Fire requires three elements to sustain combustion: fuel, oxygen, and heat. The Extinguishing Fire Ball activates within seconds of contact with flames, releasing a mono ammonium phosphate chemical powder. This powder effectively disrupts the interaction of these three elements, swiftly extinguishing the fire. Using the Fire Extinguishing Ball is simple and requires no technical expertise or prior training. In manual mode, all you need to do is throw or roll the ball towards the fire. Upon contact with the flames, it will activate within 3-5 seconds, releasing its fire-suppressing agents and extinguishing the fire almost instantly. The Fire Extinguishing Ball is ideal for home use and emergency situations, as it provides immediate fire protection without the need to approach the fire directly. In automatic mode, when installed in high-risk areas like kitchens, electrical panels, or warehouses, the Fire Extinguishing Ball remains vigilant even when you're not around. It activates automatically when a flame above 70°C is in direct contact for 3-5 seconds, offering an additional layer of protection for those hard-to-reach areas.

Do FEB Fire Extinguisher Balls Meet Australian Standards?FEB is Australian owned and operated. Our Fire Extinguishing Balls at FEB are designed and manufactured to meet Australian Safety Standards (AS/NZS 1841), ensuring they are of the highest quality and reliability. These standards guarantee that the Fire Extinguishing Ball performs effectively in emergency situations and provides superior fire protection.
-
What Chemicals are in the Fire Extinguishing Ball? The Fire Extinguishing Ball utilizes specialized fire-suppressing chemicals, including monoammonium phosphate and ammonium sulfate. These agents are effective at quickly cutting off the oxygen supply to the fire, thereby halting its progression. The chemicals are non-toxic and safe for humans, animals, and the environment. Upon activation, the ball disperses the agents over a wide area, effectively extinguishing the flames and reducing the risk of fire spread. These agents are also commonly found in traditional fire extinguishers but are delivered in a more efficient and user-friendly manner.
-
Which Types of Fires Can a Fire Extinguishing Ball Extinguish? The Fire Extinguishing Ball is highly versatile and can effectively suppress fires from multiple classes, including: Class A (Combustible Solids such as wood, paper, and furniture) Class B (Flammable Liquids like petrol, oil, and solvents) Class C (Electrical Fires) Class D (Combustible Metals) Class E (Electrical Fires involving live electrical equipment) Class F (Cooking Oils and Fats)

What is the Lifespan of a Fire Extinguishing Ball? The Fire Extinguishing Ball has a typical lifespan of up to five years, requiring minimal maintenance during this period. The only routine check required is an annual inspection to ensure it meets safety standards and remains in optimal working condition. It does not require refilling or recharging like conventional fire extinguishers, making it a low-maintenance and long-lasting fire safety solution.
